Contrary to my initial assumption that Itachi and Shisui were of similar age, further research revealed otherwise. According to narutofanonwikia, Shisui was 16 years old at the time of his death. This contradicts the notion that he and Itachi were around the same age.
Itachi's Age
Various sources suggest that Itachi was approximately 12-13 years old when the massacre took place. This is supported by the fact that he met Shisui when he was only 5 years old, indicating a significant age gap.
