A Look Back At The Boston Bruins Logos

A Look Back at the Boston Bruins Logos

A Timeless Legacy

The Boston Bruins, a storied franchise with a rich history spanning almost a century, have seen their iconic logo evolve over the years. From its humble beginnings to its modern iterations, the B inside a spoked circle has become synonymous with the team's identity.

The Early Years (1924-1948)

When the Bruins first hit the ice in 1924, their logo featured a simple black "B" against a white background. Over the next two decades, minor variations were made, including adding a green circle around the "B" and switching to a yellow background.

The Spoked Circle Era (1949-1995)

In 1949, the Bruins introduced their iconic spoked circle logo, which has remained a mainstay for much of their history. The "B" was placed inside the circle, which was divided into six equal segments. The colors remained black and yellow, with the addition of green accents.

Modern Evolutions (1996-Present)

In 1996, the Bruins underwent a significant logo redesign. The classic spoked circle was retained, but it was updated with a more streamlined look. The colors were also slightly shifted, with gold replacing yellow and a darker shade of green being used.

Commemorative Anniversary (2009)

For their 85th anniversary in 2009, the Bruins unveiled a special commemorative logo. It featured a retro-inspired "B" inside a spoked circle with crossed hockey sticks. This logo was used throughout the anniversary season.
